This Greater Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga) was seen riding the thermals one day around noon when I visited Beruas, Perak, recently (September 2019) to attend a relative's wedding. This small town is situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia where this species is often seen in small numbers each year. Found in open country and swamps, especially along coasts, it occurs through most of Europe and Asia.
