The Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala) is medium-sized for a stork and stands about 4ft (93-102cm) tall, and has a wingspan of around 5ft (150-160cm). The species occurs in the wetlands of tropical Asia from the Indian subcontinent to China and South-east Asia. It is a non-migratory bird and breeds in large trees near bodies of water where they forage for food, such as small fish, frogs and occasionally snakes.
