The Common Tailorbird (Orthotomus sutorius) often visits gardens, especially those in rural localities or close to secondary growth, scrubs or plantations. It is about the size of a sparrow and has a jerky flight, darting rapidly from bush to bush while repeatedly making its call, which seems rather loud for a bird of its size. Thus it is more often heard than seen. The call has been described as similar to the sound made by an electronic car lock.
