This medium-size dragonfly was photographed during a recent family outing to the Bukit Jalil Recreation Park near Kuala Lumpur. The species appeared to be thriving there, and many specimens were seen during our outing, flying along the edges of the lake in overcast weather in the late afternoon. This specimen was identifed for me as a male Ditch Jewel, Brachythemis contaminata. ID credit: Tai LA.
