Dragonflies and Damselflies

PAGE 1 | PAGE 2

Common Parasol (Neurothemis fluctuans) DRAGONFLIES and damselflies are difficult to photograph because they have good eyesight that can detect even the slightest movement. It's just not easy to sneak up on them with a camera. The two groups of insect belong to the Order Odonata. Here are some species I have managed to capture on film. Sorry, I'm not able to provide the names of all the species shown here. Where names are given, the species have been identifed for me ~ from my colour slides ~ by a dragonfly enthusiast. This is not the best way to identify species. If you find any mistakes here, please let me know so that I can put things right. You can send me an email or leave a comment. In recent times, I have posted images on the Facebook forum, Butterfly and Macro Singapore, and those were identified by Tai LA.
