The Kinabalu Balsam (Impatiens platyphylla) is a small perennial plant which is especially abundant along the nature trails in Kinabalu Park. I believe it is an endemic species found nowhere else except on Mount Kinabalu although I have seen a similar balsam plant on Doi Inthanon, Thailand's highest mountain.
