I believe this is a popular variety of canna often grown in public parks and gardens in Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere. We saw lots of this flower as we were descending a series of concrete steps toward the "Waterfall" on the Kuala Lumpur side of the forest park. Lighted by the late afternoon sunlight streaming obliquely through the forest canopy, the flowers seemed to emit a warm glow.
