An empty pupa case that I spotted hanging under a leaf of a bush growing beside the trail. It appeared to be that of a cicada. Insect life seemed quite scarce at the time we visited the Bukit Gasing forest park, which was late afternoon, almost close to evening, during a hot, dry spell. Besides the ant that I had photographed earlier, I saw only two butterflies and some termites.
