FOLDER 2 contains articles which I wrote for
Journal One, a leisure
and lifestyle magazine that was published in the late 1990s. This monthly magazine has since ceased publication.
- The Magnificent Flying Machine ~ The dragonfly is a fast flyer
and capable of some very impressive aerobatic manoeuvres.
- Floral Waterholes ~ The Straits Rhododendron bears attractive pink
or light purple flowers which attract insects to their nectar. They are watering holes where sometimes predators lurk.
- Ambush Artistes ~ Different families of spider catch their prey
in different ways. Crab spiders of the family Thomisidae just lie perfectly still and wait in ambush for their food to come along.
