Note: Tribe Aphnaeini is strongly represented in Africa but extends weakly into the southern fringe of the Palaearctic Region and to the Oriental Region, where it is respresented by the singe genus Spindasis (with around a dozen species generally referred to as "Silvers"). The genus occurs typically in Africa; in the Oriental Region it is distributed from Sri Lanka to Japan, Sundaland and the Philippines. (Corbet & Pendlebury, 4th edition)
