NOTE: In his book
"A Naturalist's Guide to the Butterflies
of Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand" (2014),
Dr. Laurence G. Kirton has provided the new specific name terpsicore
(previously violae) and placed this butterfly under Tribe Heliconiini
(longwings & fritillaries). This species is not mentioned nor illustrated in
"The Butterflies of
the Malay Peninsula" by A.S. Corbet and H.M. Pendlebury, 4th edition revised by J.N. Eliot (1992),
which states, "So far no representative of this subfamily has been found in the Malay Peninsula..."
